Atypical Kawasaki a case report

Kawasaki disease is a worldwide problem, however, it is more common among Asians. Since 1960, over 170000 cases have been reported. In a child with prolonged fever (>5 days) in association with mucocutaneous or laboratory symptoms of systemic inflammation Kawasaki disease should be suspected. Atypical Kawasaki does not manifest with a pathognomic picture, therefore, mortality rate is quite high. Patient: An 11-month neonate presented with high grade fever, diarrhea, nausea, and irritability. During the second week, thrombocytosis was developed, however, coronary artery was intact.
