Arab Attitude towards Iran's Nuclear Program

Iran’s declaration regarding its access to nuclear fuel cycle technology has affected various dimensions of life in the Middle East region. Despite their constant emphasis on the principle of ‘Arab interests and expediency’, Arab countries’ political elites have not had a single attitude towards the issue yet. While some scientific elites of the Arab World back Iran’s continued nuclear program, some others attach importance to the production of an Arab atomic bomb. Notwithstanding, the dominant attitude among the countries’ political elites has been cautious and sometimes filled with suspicion; in other words, by distinguishing peaceful and military nuclear capability, they have regarded use of nuclear energy as Iran’s rights conditionally. It is noteworthy that all such tendencies call for peaceful resolution of Iran’s nuclear case and avoiding any military clashes.
