Abstract:
This study aimed to promote understanding of employee's reaction to organizational power and politics. For this purpose, the relationship between perception of organizational politics and commitment and performance was examined among 160 employees in a large public university of Iran. Results showed that perception of organizational politics had a negative relationship with commitment & performance. Further, the personal variables which were used in this study showed some interesting relationship with the outcome variables. Some support was found for the effect of age, education, job status & tenure on organizational politics. The finding did not support our expectation regarding the effect of gender on organizational politics.
