The Comparison between Choice Theory and Systematic Motivational Counseling Group Therapies to Enhance Marital Satisfaction

Abstract:
The present research aimed to compare the efficacy of Choice Theory and Systematic Motivational Counseling group therapies on marital satisfaction. Thirty female married were selected. Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) was administered with participants who were assigned to three groups, including a Control Group. One of the other groups received Choice Therapy and the other one Systematic Motivational Counseling. The results indicated that there was no significant difference between choice therapy and Systematic Motivational Counseling on increasing marital satisfaction. Participants in both intervention groups showed significant increases in their marital satisfaction than those in the Control Group.
