Competitive State Anxiety in Selected Boy Players of High Schools
Ths study investigates and compares the Competitive State Anxiety of boy players participated in national competition . The research methods used are discriptive and was carried out in the field. The statistical population includes 15-19 years old selected boy players of high schools who participated in four sports field; Footsal, Basketball, Vollyball and Soccer from Esfahan, Hormozgan, Sistan va Balouchestan, Tehran townships , Kerman and Chaharmahal va Bakhtiary proviances. In this study the population and sample ere equal and included 141 15-19 years old selected boy players of high schools. The competitive state anxiety questionaire-2 (CSAI-2).[Martens etal1990] whose validity and reliability was acepted was used for data collection. In this study discriptive statistics including mean, standard diviation and ANOVA and Tuky (HSD) tests and Pearson correlation coefficient were used.The results of analysis showed that there was no significant differences in competitive state anxiety , cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety of 15 to 19 years-old players ( P>0.05 ). There was significant differences in self- confidence of boy players. Significant difference exists between 17, 18 and 19 with 15 years old players ( P< 0.05 ) .There were no significant differences in cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety, self-confidence and competitive state anxiety of 15- 19 years-old in sport fields ( P> 0.05). There was a significant positive relationship between cognitive anxiety with somatic anxiety and a significant negative relationship with self – confidence(p<0.01) .
