Abstract:
Ayatollah Marashi, one of the religious clergymen and pious guiders in the recent century, commenced in collecting and maintaining manuscripts even from his formative years since he was aware of the historical and cultural heritage concealed within these magnificent scripts. Questions: What are the specific types of calligraphy used in the Quranic manuscripts of the first six centuries of Islam? What are the main characteristics of the Quranic manuscripts of the Aytollah Marashi Najafi library including method of calligraphy and illuminations?
