The comparison of gabapentin & pregaballin on post ducal puncture headache

Abstract:
Background
One of the most important aspects of post operation care is pain control which plays a significant role in decreasing postoperation morbidity. Postdural puncture headache is a common complication. In this study we compared gabapention & pregaballin on PDPH. Materials And Methods
This randomized clinical study was performed in (60) sixty PDPH patients without past history of back pain, chronic headache, drug dependency & addiction, drug allergy, neurological & psychological problems. This study comprised patients having ASA class I age between 20 to 45, no pregnant & lactiferous. The patients divided randomly into two groups, A group (rest, fluid therapy, pregaballin). By use of NRS (numerical rating scale) pain before & after drug treatment evaluated. findings. Both groups in age & sex were likeness. NRS mean in A group was (7.90±0.74) before treatment and (4.366±0.74) after treatment. (p< 0.001) This mean in B group before treatment was (801±0.75) and after treatment (2.166±0.74). (p<0.001)Results
Both drugs are effective in relieving puncture headache.Keywords:
