Abstract:
In this paper, performance of six different Low Reynolds Number, LRN, turbulence models for prediction the onset of boundary layer transition and the length of transitional region is evaluated numerically. The numerical test cases are selected in adoption with experimental conditions that reported by one of the authors and ERCOFTAC institute for some transitional flows over flat plates. A RANS approach is used for computing of the momentum and turbulence equations. Comparision of the CFD results with the experiments shows that the ABID LRN-turbulence model has best predictions of flat plate transitional boundary layers among the others.
