A Model for Measuring Individual Learning Effectiveness (ILE) in the Virtual Training Systems Through Utilization of Interaction Effect
Author(s):
Abstract:
The main objective of each virtual or electronic training system, like other face-to-face training programs, is to convey the maximum possible concepts from the available resources, especially from a trainer, to the knowledge recipients. Any improvement in this process can be reached just if one can reliably measure the level of the objectives earned, i.e. the effectiveness of knowledge conveyance process. Even though several effectiveness measurement models have been developed for the traditional training systems, the new virtual training programs are basically so different from their predecessors that disqualify those models to some extent. Through focusing on special aspects of virtual training systems, in the present paper a new model for measuring the effectiveness of learning process, instead of training issue is developed and illustrated. First in the model, the factors affecting the learning level in the electronic training systems have been identified in the model and then, the relationships governing between these factors have been defined accordingly. Finally the model has been verified statistically by using data gathered from students and graduates of IUST Virtual Training Center.
