Most Important Elements of Archival Description in the Viewpoint of Archival Experts in Iran

is project aims to determine the most important descriptive elements required inworksheets for arrangement and description of archival records. e research employeda descriptive survey design and a researcher-made questionnaire was used to collectdata. e research population included 7 experts in the eld of archives, especially archivalarrangement and description. e descriptive indicators of the questionnaire havebeen extracted through the study of the descriptive elements existing in the GeneralInternational Standard Archival Description (ISAD(G)), Canada's Rules for ArchivalDescription (RAD), the Commonwealth Record Series (CRS) System in Australia, andthe National Archives of Iran's Manual for the Arrangement and Description of ArchivalRecords. e ndings of the research show that six necessary elements of theInternational Standard for Archival Description are also important from the viewpointof archival experts of Iran. Furthermore, it was indicated that the elements selected bythe archival experts of Iran were mostly in harmony with descriptive elements of theInternational Standard for Archival Description. erefore, it seems necessary to benetfrom international standards and experiences in addition to local requirements.
