The role of Imam Baqir in socio-political changes

Social changes have always been one of the concerns of scholars. The present paper is to clarify the role of Imam Baqir in changes, focusing on culture and politics. Referring to historical evidence, the writer tries to identify the Imam’s role in decision-making in the field of culture and creating examples in politics. He prepared the grounds for cultural change through establishing a university, devising scientific methods such as Ijatihad, and confronting deviational thoughts. In the field of politics, he promoted social changes through creating examples, advancing anti-oppression spirit, creating social integrity among the Islamic Ummah, promoting jihad, negative resistance, and gallantry.
