Cutaneous side effects of anticolvulsants

Antiepileptic drugs are prescribed in the treatment of epilepsy and many other diseases considering that in our community the prevalence of epilepsy is relatively high. Anticonvulsants like other drugs have many various side effects including hepatitis, renal failure and mucocutaneous complications that the last one may lead to hospitalization and death. Early diagnosis and treatment of these complications can prevent morbidity and mortality in many cases. In this review, common mucocutaneous side effects of anticonvulsants are outlined.
