The Analysis of Decadence Concept in the Political Thought of Ibn-Khaldun and Tabatabaee

Abstract:
Islamic political scientists and islamic countries politicians have discussed the concept of "decadence" during resent centuries. In other words, muslims unsuccessful theoretical and practical struggles and problems made by western colonialist countries against development in muslim world highlight the importance of the concept of decadence and make it as the most important problem in islamic world. There are also many differences in ideas about exiting ways among muslims and the foundation of differences exists in ambiguity about the meaning of concept. The present study attempts to answer a series of questions such as the meaning of decadence among muslim political scholars such as Ibn-Khaldun and Tabatabaee. The aim of the research is to find a definition and analyzing the causes, process and results. The method of the research is to study the ideas of Ibn-Khaldun and Tabatabaee about decadence, civilization and comparison between the thoughts of Ibn-Khaldun and Tabatabaee.The result of the study shows that they both have failed to find a relevant definition.
