The Common Views of Imam Alī (A.S.) and the Persian Poets and Scientists about the Beginning of the Creation

Abstract:
Various nations in the world have a story for the creation, which they narrate through their religious accounts or early myths. The existence of similarities in these narrations is inevitable. Muslims also believe that God has spoken of the beginning of creation in the Qur‘ān and the great part of it conforms to the modern scientific discoveries. Nahj al-Balāgha has also talked about creation. Similarly, some great philosophers have expressed their views in this respect. Our poets and literary figures have made references to this issue in their works, among which, Niẓāmī’s Iqbālnāma has contributed more than others. This article seeks to explore the contents of Nahj al-Balāgha concerning the creation of the world in comparison to Niẓāmī’s Iqbālnāma and the works of other literary figures, with a glance at the legends and myths as well as several reliable scientific theories.
