On-Line Integration of Photogrammetric Systems and SpatialDatabases for Producing Structured and Consistent Data for GIS

Message:
Abstract:
Currently, GIS database management systems are widely used in order to organize and manage spatial data for different applications. Advantages of using such systems are: capability of data integration, control of data quality, updating of existing data and map production in various scales. Therefore, researchers tried to use GIS databases and integrate them with spatial data acquisition systems. Online integration of spatial database management systems with photogrammetric system which is one of the most important and reliable spatial data sources for GIS, makes it possible to control automaticallyrelationships among features simultaneously during spatial data entry to the database. In this research, for achieving the mentioned purposes, an on-line intelligent integrated system with capability of producing fully structured and consistent data was designed and implemented. Results of practical test of this system, has shown that the produced and stored data in spatial database are consistent and structurally acceptable. Moreover, time and costs of producing spatially structured and consistent data for GIS applications are significantly reduced.
