Generation gap in Iranian family; approaches and theories

The present article is to study Generation Gap based on the identification of challenges situating against Iranian Family. After the statement of problem, this research has raised the primary questions by semantic separation and definition among four similar concepts of Difference, Conflict, Discontinuity and Generation Gap, and then it has analyzed theories and researches which are related to generation gap and confrontation of this problem with structures of modern families in Iran. Therefore, the data and results of some researches in Iran which considered with value conflict among generations are used. On the basis of this matter, the aim of present paper is the cognition of status quo about generation gap and the analysis of the factors lead to generation gap. So findings show that there hasnt seen a considerable difference among age groups in Iran with consideration to various existed factors in the investigation of findings of performed researches. In the field of confrontation of generation values with family, the inner and intergenerational relations, there is no considerable difference in the field of family values among generations and there is, more or less a kind of collective unity in related to these values, among the young and adult generations. On the other hand, there is no deep gap and thoughtful difference in the public sphere of the culture of Iran society, but the existed generation gap, contrary to public sphere, is seen at the private life of people of our society.
