research on the impression of formal discourse on women's narration of the Iran-Iraq war

Abstract:
This essay has obtained from a research with the same subject which examines the content of women’s narration of the Iran-Iraq war in their memories regarding to Islamic Republic’s formal discourse. The main hypothesis of the research is that the narration of women’s recollections of the Iran- Iraq war is influenced by the society’s formal discourse and they are not aware of this process. In fact their knowledge of the war emanates from structure of society’s formal discourse. This research based on Furlough Norman ’s opinions tries to extract his main concepts and after discussing them uses the results in conflation of critical analysis of discourse in theoretical aspect and analyzes women’s recollections of Iran –Iraq war. For this reason part of four women’s recollections of war, published from 1980 to 2007, have been studied with this method. Observing the formal discourse of Islamic Republic in many statements, emanates from the Islamic revolutionary ideas and religious discourse, is the outcome of this analytic survey.
