A Comparison of Internet searching process with Kuhlthaus model among Post-graduate students at Shahid Chamran University

The aim of this research is to study the Internet searching process among Shahid Chamran University postgraduate students to discover what feelings the students have in information search process (ISP), and also in which stage the librarians should intervene and assist the searchers. Regarding this, the issue of seeking information has been compared with Kuhlthau's Information Search Process (ISP) model in order to depict the model of information seeking of the students under study. The results of the study indicated that tendency towards a change in the information search process (ISP) of students are very tangible. In view of the students, the need for intervention, in a specific stage is very essential and also with regard to the type of their information seeking behavior, change and adjustment of the Kuhlthau's Information search process (ISP) Model was necessary. Ultimately, during this research a new model of information seeking by students was depicted and proposed.
