An Investigation into Iranmarc regarding the storage and retrieval of bibliographic information of Persian lithography books

Lithography books are important sources of information because they belong to a period before the advent of new printing machines. Since there was no appropriate bibliographic format for storage and retrieval of such books, the present research aimed at matching standards such as Iranmarc format to the bibliographic information of lithography books. All the bibliographic information commonly identified in lithography books were matched against all fields and subfields of Iranmarc. Findings show that the Iranmarc format for bibliographic information can be suitable for storage and retrieval of lithography books. However, a number of new fields are required to be added to it to fulfill the task.
