The Relationship between Police Social Capital and Public Security

Social capital for the police as a capacity and capability of the public cooperation in developing the public security and order has long attracted the attention of social science theory makers. In the present study، a theoretical model was made regarding the social capital as well as social harm theories. The statistical population of the study was formed by 587 people. Social in this study was operationalized through the three dimentions: Awareness، trust، and cooperation; crime rate was regarded as the index for public security. The findings of the study demonstrated that there is a coefficiency of. 17 between police social capital and public security. Police trust and cooperation proved to have significant relationship with social security.
