Examining the Issue of Instauration in Islamic Philosophy

Abstract:
There is no trace of instauration in pre-Islamic era. Its origins can be seen in Sheikh-o Raees era, though he did not deal with this issue in a comprehensive way. Some believe that this issue can be originated in the statements attributed to Sheikh-e Eshragh’s in which he has dealt with it in an implicit ambiguous way. Of course, it should be mentioned that the first scholar who has dealt with this issue in a clear accurate way is Mirdamad and later his student Molla Sadra who has introduced this issue in an independent manner. The term ‘instauration’ has different meanings in the holy Quran, terminological studies and philosophy and has been divided into different classifications, which are discussed in this article.
