The Monotheistic Idea in Sanai's Works

Message:
Abstract:
The issue discussed in the present article is the monotheistic idea in Sanai’s works. This idea constitutes a major part of most of Moslem mystic poets. The present author has made an effort to delineate the monotheistic idea in three sections. To this end, first monotheism and its types are presented and stipulated that Sanai’s purpose in referring to unity of being is its intuitional aspect. In the second section, much like Ibn-e Arabi, the ways of achieving the knowledge of God are discussed in terms of self-knowledge, divine names and attributes, assimilation and purification, affirmation of the creation of servants’ deeds. In the third section, five major conditions for the realization of monotheism from Sanai’s perspective are mentioned which are as follows: elimination of human determinations, sincerity, trust, mystic individuation and abstraction. The purpose of this article is to introduce and demonstrate the possibility of praising and getting the knowledge of God Almighty and sharing it with others in such a way that we could confirm assimilation in the presence of purification and purification in the presence of assimilation (just like the Quranic method) especially because the subsequent mystics like Attar and Moulavi have made Sanai the basis of their views and extended his perspective.
