Concordance of Religious and Quranic Language with human Primordial Nature

The present article attempts to study the language of religion and that of Quran as an important problems of theology and philosophy of religion. After conceptual explanation and the backdrop of linguistic problem, the author has a critical review on various views on religious language. Theories on religious language are generally divided into two cognitive and non-cognitive groups. The latter being originated from the Western thought is first critically considered and then the alternative view, i.e. cognitive theories are elaborated and finally the right view along with supporting arguments is explained. The supported view is that the language of Quran and that of Islam in general is the same as the common language of the rational people and is compatible with human primordial nature and thus was called the language of fitra i.e. primordial nature and guidance. That is to say the religious language and structure far from being imposed upon the human nature is utterly coherent and compatible with it. For the main and fundamental purpose of religion is to guide all humans throughout the ages in all walks of life everywhere. This ideal is possible and practical when the language of religion is of above-mentioned characteristics being not limited to any particular place and time. Such qualities are to be found only in language of fitra that is common ground for human cuture for all men in all times with which every man is familiar and enjoy.
