The relationship between religiosity and the quality of life (among youth in Shiraz)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between religiosity and the quality of life among youth in Shiraz. To do so, at first the related literature in Iranian and international publications has been reviewed, and then a theoretical framework based on ecological theory has been proposed as well as five hypotheses have been established. For testing hypothesis, the survey method has been used, in this case, 550 youth between 15 to 29 ages has been chosen as population by systematic random sampling. Findings show that variables at micro level (age, lower class & upper class) and at macro level (religious rituals, religious consumptions and religious beliefs) as a whole could explain 25 percent of variation of QOL of youth. The research shows that the improvement of the religious beliefs has an effect positively on mental and social heath as well as quality of life
