Study of Mirror Neuron's Function

Introduction & Mirror neuron system (NMS) represents one of the most important discoveries in the area of neuropsychology of past decades. Major functions of MNS include action understanding، imitation، empathy and all of which are critical for an individual to be social. In this review study، we considered more than 30 papers which have been published in this area from 1989 to 2010. Results of these studies could be used in different domains which include: educational and training programs، verbal abilities، imitation، empathy، and all kinds of activities that are effective in mental abilities. These findings could also be used for explaining cognitive disorders such as autism. Results show that cultural effects can be explained by MNS، accordingly it is anticipated that MNS in psychology makes a transition as DNA does in biology، and it provides a unique frame for explaining mental abilities unknown for human beings.
