    Background

    Skin is the solitary organ which is exposed to environment changes. Because of the more pressure ulcer prevalence in different care units and most its nursing intervention and their side effects so prevention is the most necessary agent in nursing care planning. One of preventing ways is prevention of skin dryness by lubricant ointment like burn ointment. (Cod liver oil and Zinc oxide)

    Materials and methods

    In this clinical trial, the information was given by one questionnaire and three cheek lists and all patients are selected randomly and then divided in two groups (A and B).

    Results

    Out comes of all data have shown that at first day skin condition in both groups was in dehydrate condition but at last day of study (seven day), the skin condition in most patients in A group was hydrated and in B group was dehydrated and these differences were significant (P<0.01). Also result have shown that seven day’s skin changes in most patients of A group were in increasing condition, but in B group any changes had not seen which these differences were significant (P<0.01). In addition at last day of study in five patients of B group have developed pressure ulcer whereas in A group hadn>t seen any pressure ulcer.

    Conclusion

    Use of burn ointment (for skin hydration) can prevent of pressuer ulcer.

    Background

    The present research is correlation study and our tools for data collection were questionnaires and a personal specification recording sheet, which have been used in one stage.

    Material and methods

    Total investigated units of this research were 132 persons, including 66 epileptic children and 66 mothers. In this research we have used descriptive statistics two level covariance analysis test, K2 test and kruskal – walise test. The result obtained from K2 test a significant relationship between two mothers reaction to epileptic children and their knowledge with epilepsy (P=0.006, X2=10.23) and we have used kruskal – walise test for significant relationship between two variable was observed (P=0.03).     Conclusion

    based upon to the obtained result in this research, we can conclude that, the mother’s reaction toward their epileptic children is influenced by their familiarity with the epilepsy as well as their quality of life can be affected.

    Background

    ventilator support usually ne cessitates endotracheal tubes or tracheostomy. Therefore ICU nurses are responsible for ensuring potency of and minimizing complications from, artificial airways.

    Methods

    this descriptive study was set up to evaluate nursing care given to patient with endoteracheal tube in intensive care unite of Army hospitals in Tehran (2004). A convenience sample of 65 ICU staffs in four Army hospitals was accrued. Data were gathered by a demographic and a hospital instrument questionnaire, also a checklist about three domains of preventing infection, sufficiency of ventilation and oxygenation and safety and comfort of patients.

    Results

    data were analyzed by X2. There was a significant difference among four hospitals (p<0.01) in preventing infections, no difference in sufficiency of ventilation and oxygenation and a significant difference in providing patients with safety and comfort (p< 0.001). The results demonstrated that providing patient's safety and comfort was not good, ventilation and oxygenation were insufficient and preventing infections were not effective.

    Background

    Head trauma may make a wide range of cognitive – behavioral symptoms. Approximately after severe head trauma in all patients and after moderate trauma in half of them and after mild trauma in 10% of them, constant neuro – psychological complications will occur. These complications include two main groups of cognitive and behavioral impairments. The severity of trauma and its consequences can determine patient’s symptoms.

    Materials and methods

    This is a descriptive study and we collected information’s from reliable reference books and English and Persian articles from internet.

    Results

    Rehabilitation in patients with head trauma shouldn’t be limited by physical problems, then neuro – psychological complications should be considered. Also Correction of common believes in families is important.

    Conclusions

    Development of medical services and sciences and new rule has increased the number of the patients who survived the head trauma. Therefore, evaluation and rehabilitation of cognitive – behavioral consequences in these patients can improve quality of life in them and their families.

    Background

    most of chemical attacks don’t have any specific drug therapy, but their effects on nervous system can be treating with pretreatment, prophylaxes and antidotes. This article introduces the drugs which can be used for treatment of nervous agents poisonous never gases. There are three main ways for exposure to chemical attack victims: 1- Pretreatment: it means we can give some drugs before poisoning with these agents for promoting treatment effects after poisoning. 2- Prophylaxis: it means we can give some drugs before poisoning which can reduce the need of treatment. 3- Antidote: which are the main drugs in poisoning treatment?

    Results

    using atropine in early time of exposure with nervous agents can prevent effect of these toxins. Using atropine with Prolidoxine can be very used in pretreatment stage. Also prescription of diazepam can control the secure in victims.

    Tracheostomy is an operation, which has many physical and psychological effects. Promoting self-care, as soon as possible, is a very important aspect of patient care. Providing information and education on the various aspects of tracheostomy management and care in a safe environment increases the patient’s self-confidence and willingness to accept their altered body image. Well-informed patients are more likely to follow instructions, which helps with compliance
