Contradictory Concept of the Medieval Woman Through two Roman de la Rose's volumes

The Middle Ages are a dark and contradictory period with a vague atmosphere in which most of the concepts are not definable clearly, because of the immense evolutions and the modifications in all the social, political, economic and historic systems, a kind of instability feels in the notions concerning the human life, among which the one is the woman and her presence. Seeing the image of the woman and the femininity, we have the impression to see a completely vague image which gives no precision. In our article, we find this darkness through two volumes of Roman de la Rose, written by two authors having completely opposite thoughts, the one courteous and loving, and the other a quite strict clerk, laughing at the courtesy and at the love to the Lady. We find the oppositions of the ideas of the authors there, reflecting those of their society.
