An Survey of Personal and Social Consequences of Disability
Disability is a universal phenomenon that has always been part of the society at any place and time. International Health Organization reports that the physical-mental, mental and social disableds constitute nearly 10% of the world population. Generally the first confrontation with the problem of disability happens within the family and this is family member's reaction that shapes the future of the disabled. Obviously, the consequences of a disabled's presence in the family and society can be investigated from different emotional- social and economical aspects. This paper intends to explore the social consequences of disability with an outlook quite different from what has been previously said.
