Examining Media Right of Correction in Iranian and International Documents

The nature of sports’ matches usually arouses excitement on part of coaches following games. Such excitement resulting from joy or disappointment of the individuals has, most probably, a direct impact on their speech, particularly, the lexicon employed in their interviews. The present article aims to examine the lexical structure of interviews given by football coaches in Iranian premier league following the matches (ninth round, season 88-89). First a corpus of interviews from 18 couches in Iranian premier league including one after winning and another after losing were collected. Then, the frequency of lexical structures of their interviews was counted using statistic methodologies. Research findings indicate that the couches mostly use emotionally positive terminology after winning, while they adopt an emotionally negative terminology after losing. Furthermore, the level of their projection after losing is much more than the time they win.
