Requirement of forecasting system design in logistics scope

Forecasting is one of the most important and complicated steps of logistical patronage in organizations, especially in military and disciplinary ones. The vital role of this process in optimum accomplishment of logistical functions has increasingly proposed the necessity of forecasting system development. So optimum use of organization’s sources, in addition using the developed potentials in this field, has brought serious attention to correct forecasting and estimation and suitable use of it’s results in decision making and planning processes. Regarding the importance of the subject, development of forecasting system would be the best indicator in practical methods in this field to reduce damages and inaccuracy costs in logistical activities. This paper has attempted to show the importance of forecasting and estimation in logistical functions and to discuss and survey the practical methods to launch this system. This paper is obtained through study in library and internet surfing. It was found in these surveys that for system pitching and improvement in forecasting and estimation accuracy, total logistical informative systems should be integrated and act as a solid standard system
