Desire for Uniting with the Beloved (God)and The Theme of "Disgust at the Worldly Life" in Sheikh Bahaei's Prose and Poetry

Message:
Abstract:
Sheikh Mohammad Bahaei was one of the most prominent litterateurs of his age who could improve different sciences. Sheikh, on the one hand, was a master in various branches of science such as jurisprudence, philosophy, mathematics, geometry and astronomy, and on the other hand, was a literary person. In his Mathnavies, including Shir-o-Shekar (Milk and Sugar), Nan-o-Panir (Bread and Cheese), and also in some narratives such as Moosh-o-Gorbeh (The Cat and The Mouse) he has shown his disgust at dependence on the mortal life, riches, power and also for hypocritical people. He was trying to unite with God. The present study tries to analyze various Mathnavies and narratives including Shir-o-Shekar, Nan-o-Panir and Moosh-o-Gorbeh from different angles to extract the hidden aspects of his personality.
