Relationship between Cultural Intelligence and Manager's Style of Leadership at Semnan University

Abstract:
This research is conducted in order to investigate the relationship between cultural intelligence and authentic leadership style of Semnan University managers. The research method was descriptive correlative. To assess the cultural intelligence، four – optioned questionnaires were distributed among the managers. Among the managers of Semnan University، 44 Subjects were selected randomly as the sample population (34 males and females). Authentic leadership style questionnaires were distributed to assess their degree of leadership style، among the employees of Semnan University، 162 subjects were selected as the sample which included 83 males and 74 females. The reliability of the instruments was calculated by Cronbach Alpha، 0. 81 for (cultural intelligence) and 0. 74 for (authentic leadership style questionnaire). For data analysis، F test، t test، regression model، Levin test، and Pearson product correlation test were used. The results show that، there is no significant relationship between cultural intelligence of Semnan University managers and their authentic leadership style. Also، it shows that، sex، age، level of education and organizational positions did not have any effect on the cultural intelligence of the managers and their authentic leadership style. According to the obtained mean، the managers of Semnan University have a relatively high intelligence and their leadership style is authentic. Therefore، in this research، we considered the cultural intelligence as the success elixir of managers and the authentic leadership style of managers is considered as a response to the shortcomings and unethical issues of other styles.
