Brain Behavioral Systems and Adult ADHD Role of Brain Behavioral Systems in Predicting Adult Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Adult Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has not been studied as much as other psychological disorders and، there are little informations about its related factors and predictors. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of brain behavioral systems in predicting the ADHD disorder. In this descriptive-correlational study our sample included 194 university students who were selected by simple random sampling. Tools of study were CAARS and BIS/BAS questionnaire. There are positive and significant differences between BAS scale with hyperactivity and impulsivity scales; but there was no significant differences between BIS and ADHD scales; there was no significant differences between BAS and inattention and self-concept scales; Relationship between fun seeking with inattention، impulsivity and self-concept scales were positive and significant and eventually relationship between drive scale with inattention and self-concept were negative and significant. Results of our study are showing the predictor role of BAS system in hyperactivity and impulsivity of ADHD and predictor role of fun seeking scale in adult ADHD disorder. In other hand drive subscale was the predictors of inattention and self -concept scales.
