Investigation the effect of honey bee and other pollinator insects pollination on quantitative and qualitative characteristic of alfalfa (Medicago sativa, Ghara yonjeh and Hamedani varities) seeds in West Azerbaijan

Considering the unclear subjects related with Alfalfa flowers pollination, this research was conducted at the North-West honey bee Research & Education station. The statistical procedure of this research was in split–plot from with completely randomized design base. Ghara–yonjeh and Hamedani as two cultivars of Alfalfa were select as main factor levels and pollination agents as sub factor levels and weight of thousand seed, germination percentage and the total produced seed weight were compared. The results show that there is a significant difference between the sub factor levels (pollination agents) considering the amount of seed produced (p≤0. 01) so that in the presence of honey bee and other pollinator insects the production of seed was 920. 316 gr. from each plot which the highest amount of production were. In the presence of honey bee alone the seed production rate was 576. 971 gr. From each plot and in absence of honey bee and other pollinator insects the production was 167. 234 gr. which was the least production. The cultivars of alfalfa and the interaction of the factors were not significant. From the point view of weight the thousand seed germination percentage were no significant differences considering the presence or absence of factors. In this research most important pollinator insects on alfalfa determined. Most of trapped insects were belong to Hymenoptera order and Apoidae super family. Most important determined genus of this was: Apis، Megachile، Halictus، Nomia، Anthophora، Anthidium، Andrena، Epeulus، Chelostomides، Callanthidum respectively.
