Constant public transportation planning in middle cities: Bus driving organization case study in Birjand

Urban transportation system is a connecting factor of activity and space in an urban system. Public transportation is an essential part of this system that increasing its efficiency has a key role in promoting urban transportation operation. Improvement of public transportation desirability, specially bus driving system, not only is possible through making substructures, such as special lines and suitable stations of advanced systems, but also via using some management solutions, without spending much cost, it is possible to improve the ability of bus driving system. In this article, at first, theoretical subjects of transportation and then, existing condition of bus driving system Birjand like system and network will be investigated and guidelines in order to avaluate service quality of bus driving system of this city and also problems and personal familiarity with the problems, will be introduced. Some information about comprehensive transportation plan of Birjand, 1378, carried out by mashhad traffic organization. Then, the results of datas from public interviews analyze, using descriptive questionnaire in two groups of drivers and authorities. Finally, some total solutions present about charge collecting system, public information and improve traffic, using the results of this study.
