Analysis of Literary Elements in Iliya Abu Madi's "The Poet and the Unjust King"

Message:
Abstract:
Narrative poetry, the entanglement of poetry and fiction, has been considered as one of the most useful literary devices to get closer to the addressee and to transfer the poet's perspectives. Arab's world of tension, since the time of Ottoman, invites the engaged literature to communicate with its addressee. Meanwhile, narrative poetry has proved to be an appropriate mean. Illiya Abu Madi is one of the most famous poets, living away from his home country, who is familiar with the contemporary technical elements of fiction and has presented narrative poetry with new themes and structures. Abu Madi's "The Poet and the Unjust King" is considered as one of most important and famous works that illustrates the dominance of narrative as an outstanding element of poetry in emigrant literature. Study of fictional elements in Madi's ode indicates that poets of emigrant literature mostly use fiction to express themes and moral duty of the society.
