Test anxiety level in medical students and its relationship with sexuality

Aims
Test-anxiety is a common phenomenon among university students and is a problem of educational system. According to high influences of anxiety and its negative consequences، the sources and their effects must be recognized. This study aimed to determine the rate of test-anxiety among students of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences and its related factors.
Methods
This cross-sectional study was performed in students of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences during 2012 and 2013 and 520 students were selected by convenience sampling method. The instrument of data gathering was Test-Anxiety Inventory includes 24 questions. Data was analyzed using SPSS 16 software and Chi-square test.
Results
176 girls (50. 0%) and 62 boys (39. 6%) had severe test-anxiety and 153 girls (42. 5%) and 93 boys (55. 4%) had mild test-anxiety (p<0. 01). 246 students (47. 3%) had mild test-anxiety، 36 students (6. 9%) had moderate test-anxiety and 238 students (45. 8%) had severe test-anxiety.
Conclusion
The rate of test-anxiety is relatively high among students of different medical courses and it is more in girl students than boys.
