Evaluating the Effects of Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation On Organizational Innovation

Abstract:
Considering the increasing pace of developments and changes in current age of communication and information as well as the instability and unpredictability of these changes، what helps nations to improve and increase productivity is using opportunities to compete with other countries; this is met through improvement، creativity، and innovation in organizations. Due to significant growth of technology، information technology (IT) issue in wider applications - for example the use of software packages related to organizations and their activities - has been considered by all industrial and service sectors. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System is a managerial software package which integrates information flow in various units of organization through collecting all data in a database. The overall goal of this research is evaluating the effects of ERP system establishment on organizational innovation. Considering integration، configuration، adaptation، and staff training as component of ERP system establishment as well as management and leadership، structure، and human resource as three components of organizational innovation، a questionnaire with appropriate validity and reliability of 0. 85 was developed. Questionnaires were distributed among the staff in a manufacturing unit of industrial flooring including 110 individuals as research population. Results achieved by Pearson correlation test، linear regression test، and multiple regression test in SPSS software showed that establishment of ERP system generally affects on organizational innovation; and all sub-hypotheses based on affecting each components of ERP system on organizational innovation were confirmed. Also، configuration and adaptation of ERP system were detected as the most influential factors on organizational innovation in studied organization.
