Effect of static magnetic field and time on growth of Aspergillus flavus and aflatoxin production

Abstract:
Introduction
Magnetic fields are important source of energy and complex that can affect biological processes. Living organisms through a field of ions and free radicals are highly affected.
Methods
To evaluate the effect of low intensity static magnetic fields on the weight of the mycelium and aflatoxin B1 production of Aspergillus flavus, factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with three replication carried out and Two factors effect of strength field magnetic at four levels (10,1,4 and 6 days and duration of exposure in field at three levels(1,2 and 4 days) were examined. The study of pathogenic isolates of the fungus in YES medium was used.
Results
Most decrease in weight mycelia and aflatoxin production B1 belonged to strength field of 6 mT in 4 days (0.26mg and 0.06mg per liter respectively).
Conclusion
Probably one of the most effective ways to control the toxin aflatoxin is extremely dangerous to human, is magnetic field.
