External assessment models and provide a comprehensive Process of external assessment

Today use of External assessment models- ISO، EFQM، visitatie، and accreditation- in health services is becoming more common around the world. This study examined these four models and offered a comprehensive process of external assessments in health care.

This research was a narrative review in the second half of 2013، by using google scholar search engines-، web of knowledge and scopus database. Key words: «ExPeRT project» and «visitatie، accreditation، ISO and EFQM» have been searched and 179 articles extracted that 39 cases of them were enrolled in the study. Finally according to the aim of the study، abstracts and articles، 12 studies extracted and also in order to design external assessment process، used of other studies models..

There are many similarities and differences in features and uses of these four assessment models. The process developed in this study includes 9 steps: demand for assessment، to receive and study the report of self-assessment، preparation for the visit، formation the assessment team، site visit، combination of conclusions، drafting of assessment report، evaluation of external assessment report and between assessments.

The proposed process in this study was designed by review of external assessment models and the suggested process is more comprehensive than the other processes in other studies. Therefore for an accurate and comprehensive assessment، 9 steps should be considered.
