Study the role of biological fertilizers on grain yield and quality of two bread wheats

Chemical fertilizers have had harmful effects on biological cycles and destroy farming stability systems. In this investigation, the effect of different combinations of three bio fertilizers (Azetobacter, Nitroxin, and Bio phosphate) on quantity and quality of two rainfed bread wheats (Sardari and an a promising check) were studied in growth seasons 2003-04 and 2004-05 in Sararood Agricultural Research Station, Kermanshah, Iran. The experimental layout was factorial based on RCBD design with 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor was the two wheat varieties and the second factor was seven different combinations of the three bio fertilizer and also N45P45 chemical and nil fertilizer as check. Moreover, grain nitrogen, protein percentage and iron and zinc concentration for each treatment were measured. Result showed highly significant differences for grain yield and thousands seed weight between cropping seasons and for other traits. There were no significant differences among the genotypes. Bio fertilizer had significant effect on grain nitrogen content, protein percentage and iron and zinc concentration. The effect of Azetobacter, Bio phosphate, Nitroxin and combination of bio phosphates and the two others caused 12.3 to 13.07 percent grain protein in compare to nil fertilizer application. The best grain yield and protein percentage were due to combination of Azetobacter and bio phosphate.
