The problem of evil in Boetheus's point of view

This paper tries to discuss Boethues''s –one of the best philosophers of medieval- point of view about the problem of evil. He was reflecting on his betrayal by his colleagues and wondering why he –an innocent man- is being punished. He reflects on essence of real happiness and thinks about two critiques: 1) Although there exists an all-powerful and all good God، evil exists too. 2) Why wickedness flourishes and is in control and virtue not only lacks rewards but is even thrown down and trodden under feet of wicked men? He pays attention to these issues: a) Whether God can use evil as a tool? B) How is the relationship between evil and freewill?
