CARING CONCEPT: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW
Caring is a core value and a basic principle in nursing practice. But this concept still is remained vague. A better and comprehensive understanding of this concept allow for identifying more accurate territory, caring behaviors in a more borders sense and for distinguishing professional role of nurses among other members of the healthcare team.
This study used the method of Combinatorial Review and Ganng Cognitive method. Systematic searches of sources including MEDLINE, CINAHL, MagIRAN and SID were employed; Google search engine was also developed through the relevant keywords (in accordance with MESH) such as "caring", "taking care" and "nursing" from 1990 to 2012. Data were analyzed based on qualitative approach and Iteration process.
Caring is an extensive communication, a unique situation and a valuable action and it also allows the opportunity to express affection, humanitarianism, sympathy, and beyond them to manifest humanity and spirituality, and it provides a mutual and meaningful development and growth in a intrapersonal communication.
Caring serves as a building block in nursing practice. The value of nursing depends on ethical dimension of caring. Caring is able to manifest humanity and development. The goal of caring is met by making communication accompanied with ethics, which means service quality and patient's consent (satisfaction).
