Iranian Collective Thanksgiving Styles and Happiness

Happiness studies have attracted a great deal of attention in the social and cultural sciences as well as in the general public. Happiness has traditionally been viewed as one of essential ingredients to a dynamic culture, even now at the present time; it is an important index in World Cultural Reports. According to surveys, rate of social happiness is at intermediate level in Iran within the recent years. Income, satisfaction and entertainments have been of main variables that have affected happiness. This paper argues that thanksgiving styles are correlated to rituals and collective work, which form some parts of happiness as a final behavior. This approach permits us to distinguish between direct and indirect linkages of happiness to individual factors and joyful collective ceremonies. Whereas some economic factors like income, employment and entertainment affect happiness directly. In addition, joyful traditional rituals have both direct and indirect effects on happiness.
