A Psychological Study of Gibran Khalil Gibran and Sohrab Sepehri's Works

Although Gibran Khalil Gibran and Sohrab Sepehri, an Arab and a Persian writer respectively, were grown up in different situations and cultures with different mentalities, they have some considerable common characteristics. Loneliness is one of the common features significantly reflected in their works. Gibran and Sepehri's status in the contemporary Arabic and Persian literature and their works being studied by many, increases the importance of this comparative work. Thus the main aim of the present study is to investigate the causes of loneliness of these two contemporary writers. The fundamental findings of this study, through a descriptive- analytical method on the source of their loneliness are the effect of family, society, idealism, being affected by Romanticism, mystical thoughts, influenced by some literary figures and failure in love.
