The Exploration of Politics in Syrian Novels: Hanna Mina's The snow comes from the windo

Message:
Abstract:
Fictional literature in Syria was formed after WWII and was affected by the rising political crisis in the country. The Syrian writer, Hanna Mina, introduced political novel writing with a social realism and eventually caught the attention of the other writers in a way that political events began to be reflected in the novels afterwards. Hanna Mina is one of the most prominent writers of novels in Syria and politics is an essential element of his works. He chose to write novels to show people's mishaps in order to achieve justification and freedom. He believed that literature had a social and political mission and exerted his social and political notions extensively in his works. The Snow comes through the Window is one of his stories in which he depicts an elite person and his political engagements. Mina intertwined his ideology, political thoughts and revolutionary opinions with his religious beliefs in a unique way in this novel.
