The study of Dramatic Values of Koroglu Epic and Its Metamorphosis

In this research which with analytical – descriptive method in a qualitative framework has been conducted, the goal is to examine how such a popular folk epic like Koroglu is able to be adapted, what are the adaptation capabilities this epic has, and if the current adaptions are successful or not. In anticipation of the adoptions, in each field of cinema, opera and theatre, three phenomena are selected and study has been conducted on them. The survey results and analysis, reveal the Koroglu epic, has several dramatic features causes this epic is suitable for adoption. The analysis based on professional standards, shows that the theatrical and opera adaptation of the Koroglu epic was not very successful but the movie adaptation from the point of view of dramatic features was a successful adaptation. Because of the good recognizing of the needs of its time, it has been able to change the story and characters in the new burnished character of Koroglu and other heroes, and make a new adaptation.
