Communicative Models and Increase of Knowledge Concerning Citizenship Rights (Radio and Television)

Historical media developments show the strong dependence of exaltation of human knowledge and thinking on communicative tools; as growth of knowledge, thinking and wisdom has led to emergence of numerous capabilities in human beings we witness today. The mankind owes to the media the increase of its knowledge and its transmission through messages. In today’s society, media - through desirable production and distribution of information - play a great role in upgrading divergent and essential knowledge and in helping the society to reach overall elevation and progress. In this paper, by referring to research information and data and finding out the extent of knowledge concerning citizenship rights and the volume of mass media usage by Khorramabadi people and then by analytically reviewing communicative models and employing them in radio and television programs, experts believe efforts have been made to review improvement of knowledge concerning citizenship rights. The methodology of the paper has been survey research, with sample population of 328 persons from the city of Khorramabad and 214 from among experts. Based on the findings of the research, the degree of knowledge concerning citizenship rights has not been identical among the people of Khorramabad. Here, among the various dimensions of citizenship rights, the highest one was related to the civil dimension and also there is a meaningful relationship between the use of mass media and awareness about citizenship rights. Also, among the communicative models, those of the active audience and agenda setting have the highest relationship with the improvement knowledge about citizenship rights in radio and television.
