A Comparison of the Performance of Children with Verbal and Nonverbal Learning Disabilities on the Theory of Mind Test

Abstract:
Objective
This Study was conducted to compare children with verbal and nonverbal learning disabilities on theory of mind test and components.
Method
The participants participated in an one cross-sectional study, included 60 students boys who were selected simple randomly from students in the fifth and sixth grade at primary schools of Ahvaz city. The instrument of the study was theory of mind test.
Results
The collected data was analyzed with MANOVA method and The results showed that the children with verbal and nonverbal learning disabilities in theory of mind test is significantly different. The children with nonverbal learning disabilities had more deficits in theory of mind test.
Discussion
This results indicate that deficits in performance of theory of mind tasks, relates to nonverbal learning disabilities.
