New Sociology of Science (NSS) And the Emergence of cultural Approaches toward knowledge

Abstract:
the basic character of “new sociology of knowledge and science” is the emphasis on culture and cultural analysis in science and technology studies.Karin knorr cetina is one of the prominent of new sociology of science that has played important role in the formation of cultural approach toward scientific knowledge and has displayed examples of relations between science and culture. The concept of "epistemic culture", relocating culture in the micropractices of laboratories and other bounded habitats of knowledge production. also, Karin knorr cetina explores the concepts of "knowledge culture" and "epistemic culture" in knowledge society. According to her idea, not all places of knowledge production, however, are bounded spaces, and there is a case to be made for including in the empirical agenda more distributed location. She is done by introducing the concept of "macro epistemics ", to describe wider networks of knowledge productions such as what is often known as the "epistemization of economic transactions and financial markets ". In this article, these concepts are explained.
